Biography

Arens Jean Ricardo Médéus is a dedicated and accomplished medical professional with a robust background in surgery, infectious disease epidemiology, and public health. He is currently serving as a General Surgery Resident at Hôpital de l'université d'état d'Haïti in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he is honing his surgical skills and contributing to the healthcare community.
Born on January 20, 1995, in Haiti, Dr. Médéus has shown an unwavering commitment to medical excellence from an early age. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculté de Médecine et de Pharmacie de l'Université d'État d'Haïti in September 2021. To further his expertise, he completed a Clinical Research Certificate from Harvard Medical School and Postgraduate Medical Education in November 2022.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Médéus is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of KEEP MOVING, an organization established to accelerate and promote scientific research communication in Haiti. His leadership and innovative vision are instrumental in advancing the organization's mission.
Dr. Médéus also plays a significant role in the academic and research community. He is the founder and president of SURGE Lab (Surgical Research and Global Education Lab), a multidisciplinary team committed to conducting innovative surgical research in low- and middle-income countries. His dedication to research is evident through his numerous publications and his active participation in various professional organizations and journals.
As a journal selection assistant and pre-submission reviewer at Enago, Dr. Médéus evaluates the quality and validity of research manuscripts, ensuring they adhere to journal guidelines and standards. His expertise is highly sought after by international journals, including the Harvard Public Health Review, European Scientific Journal, BMJ, and Journal of Infection and Public Health. He also mentors aspiring researchers through the Publons Academy and contributes to the editorial process of the Global Journal of Medical Students and other esteemed journals.
Dr. Médéus's research interests include surgical site infections, epidemiological surveys, and the use of social networking platforms for health information dissemination. He has authored several notable papers and case reports, contributing valuable insights to the medical field.
He is a member of esteemed organizations such as the American College of Surgeons, Boston Congress of Public Health, American Public Health Association, and Junior Doctors Network of the World Medical Association.
