Mpox vaccine acceptance among healthcare workers: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Journal
The Study
Our team, led by the visionary Ammar Mektebi and supervised by Mohamed Elsaid, conducted an extensive systematic literature search across renowned databases. We meticulously analyzed ten studies, encompassing a staggering 7,322 healthcare workers, to provide a comprehensive overview of mpox vaccine acceptance and hesitancy among this crucial population.
Key Findings
The review revealed that the prevalence of mpox vaccine acceptance among healthcare workers stood at an encouraging 58.5%. However, it also highlighted a significant hesitancy rate of 41.5%. Notably, countries in Asia and Africa exhibited higher acceptance rates, with estimates reaching 68%, while North America and Europe lagged behind at 44.3%.
Implications and Future Directions
This meta-analysis underscores the urgent need for further research to understand the factors influencing mpox vaccine acceptance disparities. By identifying these factors, we can develop targeted interventions to increase vaccine acceptance and reduce the burden of this devastating disease. Moreover, it is crucial to prioritize research on mpox vaccine acceptance and hesitancy among healthcare workers in countries with limited data, empowering policymakers to craft effective strategies.
Join the Movement
We invite healthcare workers worldwide to join us in this critical mission. Together, we can shape policies, drive change, and protect our communities from the ravages of mpox. Let us unite, share knowledge, and pave the way for a brighter, healthier future.
Conclusion
In summary, our study on mpox vaccine acceptance among healthcare workers has yielded significant insights. We are proud to have published our groundbreaking findings in the prestigious journal BMC Public Health. Join us in this remarkable achievement by becoming a part of the Medical Research Program (MRP). Together, let’s drive positive change and shape the future of global health.
